The large market town of Northampton is set in the East Midlands and is only 67 miles from London and 50 miles from Birmingham. The River Nene runs through Northampton and there are many green areas dotted through the town that are popular with walkers and families. Northampton is served by a railway station and there are regular services to many major cities and towns including Milton Keynes that is only 20 miles from the new town.
